Happy Friday! πŸŽπŸŒ»πŸŒΎπŸ‚πŸ  We hope you’ve had a great week!  πŸ™πŸ™Œ The current Air Quality according to www.AirNow.gov is 170, which is better than it has been but still unhealthy.  😷 If you have health conditions and must be outside, please remember to use a N-95 mask, NOT a surgical or covid mask.

The bulletin for this Sunday, October 5, The Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost and LWML Sunday, is here on our website and attached to this email. There are paper copies outside of the office. This week at Sunday School, we are looking at β€œThe Unique Greek: Lydia is baptized.” The Lord opened her heart to hear what Paul said, and the Church in Philippi had its beginning. Sunday School meets after worship.

This Sunday, we will celebrate Lutheran Women in Mission, the LWML. πŸ’œ Their motto is all about willing service and the attitude of joyfully serving. Serve the LORD with gladness! (Psalm 100:2). Since 1942, Lutheran Women in Mission has focused on affirming each woman’s oneness with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions. They have been and are ready to serve their Lord. The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) invites you to join us in celebrating the joy of serving the Lord with gladness in this congregation. Together, we will offer our praise using the theme, β€œReady to Serve,” based on Luke 1:38. And Mary said, β€œBehold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. As redeemed children of God, Lutheran Women in Mission give thanks for the opportunity to serve others as we have been served, to proclaim that Jesus is our Lord and that He came for all nations, and to respond with our mite offerings to support God’s mission. We invite you to learn more about the mission and ministry of the Lutheran Women in Mission by asking a member or going to the LWML website, www.lwml.org. Thank you for supporting the LWML through your mite offerings and prayers.

The Wednesday afternoon Bible study will next meet on October 8; many of us otherwise have travel plans. We plan on an in-depth study of the Book of Job using Concordia’s Lifelight curricula. Although we are all familiar with Job’s story, this will enable us to study the message's impact on our faith. A copy of the student guide is available for inspection on the library table. Please send a note to Hollie if you plan to attend so we can order additional books.

Altar Guild is hosting a free yard sale of seasonal items, dΓ©cor, glassware, crafting supplies, and more! πŸŽ„πŸŽ€πŸ•― Please check out the tables in the Old Narthex to find your new treasures. This Sunday is the last day! All is free, donations to Altar Guild will be accepted.

The Women’s Circle annual Spaghetti Dinner will be Sunday, October 26, from 5:00 pm-6:30 pm. 🍝 A complete salad bar, garlic bread, desserts and beverages will complement our yummy spaghetti sauce! Profits from freewill donations will fund Women’s Circle congregational and mission projects, including Adopt-A-Student from Concordia Seminary. Gluten-free pasta will be available. Thrivent Action Dollars will support this project. Invite a friend!

We will be revising our Prayer Chain list soon. πŸ™ Please sign up on the Kiosk to be added to the new Prayer Chain. Talk to Eva Williams with any questions. Thank you for your time to pray for your congregation!

Our holiday Special Offerings are coming right up. Which charities shall we give to? This year we’d like to build our local charities list from organizations that you are already working with, or are materially supporting. Visit the table in the narthex and let us know which local charities you support with your time and/or money.

The Calendar and the Congregation Information for October are here on our website.

Have a great weekend! πŸŒžπŸπŸŽπŸŽπŸŒ»πŸŒΎπŸ God is good, All the time; All the time, God is goooooood! πŸ™πŸ™Œ

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
