🌞🌻🍎🍏 Faith Minutes for Monday, September 29, 2025 πŸŒΎπŸ‚πŸ

Happy Monday! πŸŒžπŸŒ»πŸŽπŸπŸŒΎπŸπŸ‚  We hope you all had a great weekend! Our air quality today from www.AirNow.gov is 207, which is VERY UNHEALTHY. πŸ˜· If you have any health issues, please use an N-95 mask, NOT a blue surgical mask or a covid mask.

The bulletin for Sunday, September 28, The Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost, is available here. There are additional copies outside the office. The video of the service is here on our website.

We now have a new Circuit Visitor, Pastor Shawn Neider from Grand Coulee. He has informed us that our circuit has the opportunity to provide a lay delegate to next year’s Synodical Convention. The convention will be held in Phoenix, July 18-23, 2026. If you would like to be considered for the role of delegate, please let me know by this Friday, October 3. The delegate will be chosen during the Circuit Forum on October 8. Please forward your request by email; I can be contacted at OldDawg81@gmail.com. Thanks, Garritt Visser.

We had a very special Sunday School lesson this week! Pastor Griesse's wife Yvonne gave us an introduction to Martin Luther, focusing on the importance of hymns to help us express our faith.  Our hymnal has more than 25 hymns by Luther. Sunday School meets after worship.

The Wednesday Afternoon Bible Study will next meet on October 8; many of us otherwise have travel plans. We plan on an in-depth study of the Book of Job using Concordia’s Lifelight curricula. Although we are all familiar with Job’s story, this will enable us to study the message's impact on our faith. A copy of the student guide is available for inspection on the library table. Please send a note to Hollie if you plan to attend so we can order additional books.

Altar Guild is hosting a Free Yard Sale of seasonal items, dΓ©cor, glassware, crafting supplies, and more! πŸŽ„πŸŽ€πŸ•―️ Please check out the tables in the Old Narthex to find your new treasures. All is free, donations to Altar Guild will be accepted.

We will be revising our Prayer Chain list soon. πŸ™ Please sign up on the Kiosk to be added to the new Prayer Chain. Talk to Eva Williams with any questions. Thank you for your time to pray for your congregation!

We need cookies for Coffee Fellowship! πŸͺπŸͺπŸͺ Please bring cookies, labeled with the date, and leave them in the freezer in the kitchen.

Based on the biblical account of the widow’s mite (Luke 21:1-4), the Mite Box is intended for regular contributions of β€œmites” β€” offerings above and beyond the support given to congregations and the LCMS. The Mite Box is more than just a symbol of God’s provision β€” it’s a reminder that your offerings and prayers bring the love and hope of Jesus to those in need. You can also donate online at www.lwml.org/donate-online to make giving easy! We will celebrate Luther Women in Mission Sunday πŸ’œ this week, October 5.

Please return your Portals of Prayer survey to Stan or to the office. We will continue to provide the devotionals to all who request them. Digital subscriptions are also available online.

Stewardship is featuring Lutheran Hour Ministries this quarter on our bulletin board in the old narthex. LHM does so many things to spread the Word that one bulletin board is hardly enough! Be sure to stop by and take a look.

Greetings from your librarian! We have a new book in our Church Library this month, donated by a member of our congregation and written by: Rev. Timothy Winterstein! β€œWorshiped and Glorified, A study on the Nicene Creed,” is now available for you to read. You can also listen to him share this book on Issues Etc. It may be used as a small group Bible study, or as a personal devotion. There are study questions at the end of each chapter. As a reminder, our library is robust and full of good Lutheran theology! Books donated should only be through CPH, our LCMS publishing company! Thank you!~ Lorna

Our holiday Special Offerings are coming right up. Which charities shall we give to? This year we’d like to build our local charities list from organizations that you are already working with, or are materially supporting. Visit the table in the narthex and let us know which local charities you support with your time and/or money.

In Loving Memory: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27. Former Faith member Bonnie Howeiller passed away last week. Her service will be October 18 at Grace Lutheran in Wenatchee; then her ashes will be buried with her husband’s in the Faith Lutheran Memorial Garden, with a reception here following.

Happy Birthdays πŸŽ‚ this week to Max Delzer, Nancy Smith, Sharon Richmond, Char Lauer, Dennis Lotts, and Kaitlyn Lotts!

Happy Anniversary πŸ’ this Thursday to Mark & Donaji Maydole!

This Sunday, October 5, will be The Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost and LWML Sunday. We will have Divine Service with Communion with Pr. Mark Bertermann of Kennewick, WA. The lessons will be from Habakkuk 1:1-4; 2:1-4; 2 Timothy 1:1-14; and Luke 17:1-10. The lessons link to BibleGateway.com.

Have a great week! πŸŒžπŸŒ»πŸŽπŸπŸŒΎπŸ‚πŸ God is good, All the time; All the time, God is gooooood! πŸ™πŸ™Œ

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
