ππππ» Faith Minutes for Monday, October 6, 2025 πΎππ
Happy Monday! ππ»πππΎππ We hope you all had a great weekend! ππ Our air quality today from www.AirNow.gov is 196, which is UNHEALTHY. If you have any health issues, please use an N-95 mask, NOT a blue surgical mask or a covid mask.
The bulletin for Sunday, October 5, The Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost and LWML Sunday, is available here on our website. There are additional copies outside the office. The video of the service is here on our website.
We have received a letter from Pastor Lutjens regarding our Call. He has informed us that he is declining our Call.
Our October Voters Meeting will be held after service on Sunday, October 19 at 10:45 am.
The Call Meeting will also be during the October Voters Meeting. The candidate information binders are back in the office should you wish to review the information.
Yesterday in Sunday School, we looked at βThe Unique Greek: Lydia is baptized.β The Lord opened her heart to hear what Paul said, and the Church in Philippi had its beginning. Sunday School meets after worship.
Yesterday we celebrated Lutheran Women in Mission, the LWML. Their motto is all about willing service and the attitude of joyfully serving. Serve the LORD with gladness! (Psalm 100:2). Since 1942, Lutheran Women in Mission has focused on affirming each womanβs oneness with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions. They have been and are ready to serve their Lord. The Lutheran Womenβs Missionary League (LWML) invites you to join us in celebrating the joy of serving the Lord with gladness in this congregation. Together, we will offer our praise using the theme, βReady to Serve,β based on Luke 1:38. And Mary said, βBehold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.β And the angel departed from her. As redeemed children of God, Lutheran Women in Mission give thanks for the opportunity to serve others as we have been served, to proclaim that Jesus is our Lord and that He came for all nations, and to respond with our mite offerings to support Godβs mission. We invite you to learn more about the mission and ministry of the Lutheran Women in Mission by asking a member or going to the LWML website, www.lwml.org. Thank you for supporting the LWML through your mite offerings and prayers.
The Preschool is having a Double Good Popcorn Pop-Up Virtual Fundraiser, October 17-21! πΏ Fifty percent of the proceeds of every bag of popcorn purchased will go to the preschool. You may either order online October 17-21 and theyβll send it to you, or you can fill out an order form and pay by cash or check, and pick up at the church. Thank you for supporting your Preschool!
The Womenβs Circle annual Spaghetti Dinner will be Sunday, October 26, from 5:00 pm-6:30 pm. π A complete salad bar, garlic bread, desserts and beverages will complement our yummy spaghetti sauce! Profits from freewill donations will fund Womenβs Circle congregational and mission projects, including Adopt-A-Student from Concordia Seminary. Gluten-free pasta will be available. Thrivent Action Dollars will support this project. Invite a friend!
The Wednesday Afternoon Bible Study will next meet on October 8; many of us otherwise have travel plans. We plan on an in-depth study of the Book of Job using Concordiaβs Lifelight curricula. Although we are all familiar with Jobβs story, this will enable us to study the message's impact on our faith. A copy of the student guide is available for inspection on the library table. Please send a note to Hollie if you plan to attend so we can order additional books.
We will be revising our Prayer Chain list soon. π Please sign up on the Kiosk to be added to the new Prayer Chain. Talk to Eva Williams with any questions. Thank you for your time to pray for your congregation!
Stewardship is featuring Lutheran Hour Ministries this quarter on our bulletin board in the old narthex. LHM does so many things to spread the Word that one bulletin board is hardly enough! Be sure to stop by and take a look.
Our holiday Special Offerings are coming right up. Which charities shall we give to? This year weβd like to build our local charities list from organizations that you are already working with, or are materially supporting. Visit the table in the narthex and let us know which local charities you support with your time and/or money.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
