Happy Monday! πŸŽπŸ We hope that you had a great weekend! πŸŽƒπŸ‚πŸ

The bulletin for Sunday, October 4, The Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost and LWML Sunday, is available here on our website. There are additional copies outside the office. The video of the service is here on our website, and the sermon is here.

The Voters’ Meeting will be this Sunday, October 11, at 12:00 pm after the Adult Bible Study. Reports are due to the office by Thursday at 2:00 pm for inclusion in the voters’ packets. Please plan to attend this important meeting.

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the proposed policies. The Elders and Pastor have compiled the feedback, prayed about the recommendations, and discussed them at length. Pastor has written a response that summarizes the consensus he and the Elders have come to in regards to the feedback they were presented with. Please take the time to read over and consider these responses prior to the voter’s meeting, this week.

On July 21, 2026, the 69th Regular Convention of The Lutheran Churchβ€”Missouri Synod adopted Resolution 9-14A by a vote of 887 Yes to 24 No. The resolution proposes an amendment to the Synod Constitution to allow alternate means, in cases of urgent necessity, for calling a special district convention without the consent of the district president. We are being asked to vote for or against ratification of this proposed constitutional amendment. This matter will be presented to the voters on October 11, 2026. A letter of explanation, along with the full text of the proposed amendment and Resolution 9-14A, is attached for your review and consideration. If you have any questions regarding the proposed amendment, please direct them to our Congregational President, Garritt Visser.

LWML Celebration! Yesterday we celebrated Lutheran Women in Mission, the LWML. Their motto is all about willing service and the attitude of joyfully serving. Serve the LORD with gladness! (Psalm 100:2). Since 1942, Lutheran Women in Mission has focused on affirming each woman’s oneness with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions. They have been and are ready to serve their Lord. The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) invites you to join us in celebrating the joy of serving the Lord with gladness in this congregation. Together, we will offer our praise using the theme, β€œReady to Serve,” based on Luke 1:38. And Mary said, β€œBehold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. As redeemed children of God, Lutheran Women in Mission give thanks for the opportunity to serve others as we have been served, to proclaim that Jesus is our Lord and that He came for all nations, and to respond with our mite offerings to support God’s mission. We invite you to learn more about the mission and ministry of the Lutheran Women in Mission by asking a member or going to the LWML website, www.lwml.org. Thank you for supporting the LWML through your mite offerings and prayers.

Yesterday's Sunday School lesson was on mankind’s fall into sin. It’s all about rulesβ€”God’s rules!β€”and His mercy and forgiveness. Sunday School meets after worship.

The Women’s Circle Annual Spaghetti Dinner will be Sunday, October 18, from 5:00 pm-6:30 pm. 🍝πŸ₯—πŸ₯– A complete salad bar, garlic bread, desserts and beverages will complement our yummy spaghetti sauce! Profits from freewill donations will fund Women’s Circle congregational and mission projects. Gluten-free pasta will be available. Thrivent Action Dollars will support this project. Invite a friend!

It is with temporary sadness and eternal joy that I inform you our sister in Christ, Alice French, was called home to be with our Lord Tuesday, September 22. In my last interaction with Alice on this side of the resurrection, she looked at me and said, β€œPastor, I am ready to see the face of my Savior.” She had such confidence in the hope she has in Christ that the joy of that confidence emanated from her, even as she awaited His call home. Alice is a baptized member of the Kingdom of God, and we can say with full assurance that this is not goodbye, this is simply our final β€œsee you later”, until we are reunited with her and the whole host of God’s children when Jesus returns and awakens all who have fallen asleep in the faith. Her memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 17, at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home Chapel in North Seattle. Her family has invited all to attend as they are able.

The lessons for this Sunday, October 11, 2026, Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost, will be from Isaiah 25:6-9; Philippians 4:4-13; and Matthew 22:1-14. The lessons link to BibleGateway.com.

Have a great week! πŸŽπŸπŸŽƒπŸ‚πŸ God is good, All the time; All the time, God is goooood! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
