Happy Friday! ππππ»πΎππ We hope youβve had a great week! π
The bulletin for this Sunday, September 7, The Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost, is here on our website. There are paper copies outside of the office. The ebulletin works very well on your phone if you would prefer a full bulletin with all the hymns. The livestream will be here on YouTube if you arenβt able to attend. There will not be communion this Sunday.
With the letter from Pastor Wendt returning our Call, the Call committee has set a Call meeting for Saturday, September 6, at 1:00 pm. The committee recommends that we stay with the remaining four Pastors on the short list.
Pastor Gudgel
Pastor Lutjens
Pastor Mason
Pastor Niemeier
If anyone would like to add one or all of the other Pastors from the original list, they can make a motion at the Call meeting to include them. Please take some time to review all nine of the pastorsβ information on the entire list that the call committee has developed. With that preparation, if one or more candidates were added during the call meeting, the call meeting could proceed in selecting a pastor to call. The other Pastors are Pr. Bruce, Pr. Harrison, Pr. Lucke, Pr. Nelson, and Pr. Schauer. The binder is available in the office. The agenda for the call meeting is attached.
Please contact any of the Call committee members if you need help.

It's time to update the Emergency Contacts List, sponsored by our Naomi widows' group. This is a low-tech paper list that shows us how to contact your family or friend in case you should have an emergency at church. It supplements the computerized lists that Hollie and the elders have. We want to make sure we have the most current contact information for you. This list will be private and yet accessible in strategic locations in the church. Take an information sheet at the round library table if you need to sign up or make an update. We'll keep the materials out through the month of September.
Please join us September 21 for a Farewell Reception for Elisabeth Tatusko. She is leaving us in October for Brooklynn, NY and weβll take this time to wish her blessings. Weβll have cake after Bible Class.
We need cookies for Coffee Fellowship! πͺπͺπͺ Please bring cookies, labeled with the date, and leave them in the freezer in the kitchen.
Everything we do as Lutheran Women in Mission π begins with Christβs message of repentance and forgiveness. The Ascension text of βGOβ (Luke 24:44β53) is the mission emphasis for Lutheran Women in Mission Sunday 2025. On Ascension Day, Jesus gave his followers an assignment βthat repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations.β We, as the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, have a responsibility to proclaim the message of Christ, to be that body which proclaims repentance and forgiveness, showing forth the merciful Christ in what we do and say. As Lutheran Women in Mission we continue to support, encourage and uplift missionaries, and also provide physical support and compassion to all people. It is the proclamation of repentance and forgiveness of sins in Jesusβ name that motivates us to do this work. All Glory be to Jesus!

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
