The bulletin for this Sunday, August 24, The Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost, is here on our website. There are paper copies outside of the office. The ebulletin works very well on your phone if you would prefer a full bulletin with all the hymns. The livestream will be here on YouTube if you aren’t able to attend. There will not be communion this Sunday.
With the letter from Pastor Wendt returning our Call, the Call committee has set a Call meeting for Saturday, September 6, at 1:00 pm. The committee recommends that we stay with the remaining four Pastors on the short list.

If anyone would like to add one or all of the other Pastors from the original list, they can make a motion at the Call meeting to include them. Please take some time to review all nine of the pastors’ information on the entire list that the call committee has developed. With that preparation, if one or more candidates were added during the call meeting, the call meeting could proceed in selecting a pastor to call. The binder is available in the office.

Immediately following the worship service this Sunday, the congregation is invited to a review of the candidates on the full call list. This is the four on the current list plus additional candidates earlier screened out by the call committee. Motions to make changes to the call list will be reserved for the next call meeting on September 6. As announced last week, a TIM (Transitional Interim Ministry) candidate will not be considered; there is no one available to us across the United States.
Friday Ladies Bible Study begins their 48th year on September 5 in the Fellowship Hall, 9:00-11:00 am. The first three weeks will feature DVD #2 in the Lutheran Hour Ministries series of Luther’s reformation response to purgatory, penance, indulgences, masses for the dead, and the Papacy. Newcomers are WELCOME!
Altar Guild is hosting a Free Yard Sale of seasonal items, décor, glassware, crafting supplies, and more! 🎄🎀🕯️ Please check out the tables in the Old Narthex to find your new treasures. All is free, donations to Altar Guild will be accepted.
The next Fifth Sunday Potluck will be next Sunday, August 31, at noon after the Bible Class. Please sign up at the Kiosk.
