Sunday School starts this Sunday!  We’re going to see Paul and Barnabas depart for their first missionary journey, and the city of Lystra, where they will be mistaken for Greek gods!

Faith’s widows support group, Naomi, will meet Tuesday, September 16, at 1:00 in the fellowship hall. We’ll eat cream puffs and consider an article on how loneliness just might be a sign that Christ is inviting us closer.

The Faith Wednesday Afternoon Bible Study will restart on September 17 at 2:00 pm. The study is open to everyone. The purpose of the study is to take an in-depth look at either a book of the Bible or a specific topic from the Bible. We will make a decision on our study material at the first meeting. Samples will be laid out in the library before the 17th for examination.

Please join us September 21 for a Farewell Reception for Elisabeth Tatusko. She is leaving us in October for Brooklyn, NY and we’ll take this time to wish her blessings. We’ll have cake after Bible Class.

Altar Guild is hosting a Free Yard Sale of seasonal items, dΓ©cor, glassware, crafting supplies, and more! πŸŽ„πŸŽ€πŸ•― Please check out the tables in the Old Narthex to find your new treasures. All is free, donations to Altar Guild will be accepted.

It’s time to update the Emergency Contacts List, sponsored by our Naomi widows’ group. This is a low-tech paper list that shows us how to contact your family or friend in case you should have an emergency at church. It supplements the computerized lists that Hollie and the elders have. We want to make sure we have the most current contact information for you. This list will be private and yet accessible in strategic locations in the church. Take an information sheet at the round library table if you need to sign up or make an update. We’ll keep the materials out through the month of September.

In Loving Memory:  Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10  Our beloved sister Barbara Miller passed away this week. She will be greatly missed by all of us. Please pray for her family. Blessed are they who die in the Lord.

We will be revising our Prayer Chain list soon. πŸ™ Please sign up on the Kiosk to be added to the new Prayer Chain. Talk to Eva Williams with any questions. Thank you for your time to pray for your congregation!

We need cookies! πŸͺπŸͺπŸͺ Please bring cookies, labeled with the date, and leave them in the freezer in the kitchen.

As Lutheran Women in Mission, we joyfully proclaim Christ, support missions, and equip women to honor God by serving others. On Lutheran Women in Mission Sunday, we remember our past and look to the future. We will celebrate Luther Women in Mission Sunday this year on October 5.

Please return your Portals of Prayer survey to Stan or to the office. We will continue to provide the devotionals to all who request them. Digital subscriptions are also available online. Surveys are in your mailbox, and there are extras in the office.

Our holiday Stewardship Special Offerings are coming right up. Which charities shall we give to? This year we’d like to build our local charities list from organizations that you are already working with, or are materially supporting. Our actual Special Offerings will look the same as they have been: 30% to LCMS-affiliated organizations and 70% to local charities. But after winter is over, we hope to continue and strengthen the relationship we started during the holidays, helping these local charities with specific needs. So how shall we find out who is supporting local charities? Please share with Perci, Karlene or myself the names of your favorite charities and how you’re involved with them.

Have a great weekend! πŸŒžπŸπŸŽπŸŒ»πŸŒΎπŸπŸ‚ God is good, All the time; All the time, God is goooood! πŸ™πŸ™Œ

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2
